Allen Films was established in 2003 by college graduate Kent Allen of Winston-Salem, NC. He attended school at The Art Insitute of Charlotte in Charlotte, NC in 2001. During his duration of college, he interned for two production companies that include Bill Barns Film & Video Production and Paradox Films & Design. His primpary duties as an intern was logging tapes, grip, set dressor and an assistant editor on linear and non-linear editing platforms for The Best Damn Sports Show on FOX & a Dale Earnardt tribute commercial piece.

After graduating with a degree in Multimedia / Webdesign, Kent founded Allen Films, LLC a company that specializes in web-design, filmmaking and multimedia. His first major accomplishment was an award he received in Los Angeles, California for a horror film that won “Best Horror Short” at the New York International Film & Video Festival. The film was screened in Los Angeles, CA, Las Vegas, NV and New York, NY.  Kent produced, wrote, edited, and directed the film. After several years of film / video production, he was later hired as a freelance cinematographer for a horror film that was produced by New Daydream Films (NDF) based in Charlotte, NC. Through the success of his first feature with NDF let have the privilage in working with them once again on their first T.V. Pilot 'New Water' where he served as co-Director, cinematographer, producer & editor. This allowed him to work as an editor, cinematographer, co-director and producer for multiple NDF projects and is now working officially for the company as primarily a producer / writer / editor. His company is in charge of all promotional material including websites, posters etc.. and all post-production services.

In early 2010, he was hired as a contracted freelancer by Halogen T.V. to serve as a cinematographer for their original Emmy Nominated T.V. Series 'Tainted Love' which is currently airing nationally every Tuesday @ 10:30PM EST on Halogen T.V. The show has now been green lit for season two, that is currenly in pre-production with principal photography begining mid 2011.

Kent's upcoming short film titled 'Angel of Hope' that he wrote and served as producer, director & editor is currently in post-production. It's a charity piece to help raise money for childhood cancer research. His company also partnered up with NDF for their new 2011 T.V. Series 'Home'. Kent, once again serve as a co-Director, cinematographer, producer & editor. The pilot is scheduled to premiere locally in late August / early September of 2011 and will then be pitched to major networks with Halogen being one. Allen Films & NDF are currently in pre-production for their 2011 faith based feature 'Waiting For Butterflies' and then join forces in producing the 2012 feature drama 'Patient 27', in which Kent wrote and will be producing and directing along side Richard Clark, Jr. Both companies are in collaberation with multiple future projects.
